Anoka is the Halloween Capital of the World! A big event that is a part of the celebration is the Annual Gray Ghost 5k Run & 1 Mile Fitness Walk.
Anoka is the Halloween Capital of the World! A big event that is a part of the celebration is the Annual Gray Ghost 5k Run & 1 Mile Fitness Walk. This year the event will be held on Saturday, October 30th. The event is sponsored by Anoka Business & Landowners Association, Wells Fargo, Anoka Hennepin Community Education & the North Suburban Striders.
Registration begins at 10:00 AM at Franklin Elementary School, West Main Street, Anoka on October 30th with the run to begin at 12:50 pm and kicks off the Grand Day Halloween Parade.
Registration Fee is $25 in advance (must be received by noon on October 26th) or $30 race day. The 5K Course is Chip Timed USATF Certified with age group awards 3 deep in 9 age groups. Long-sleeved moisture wicking technical shirts and refreshments are available for finishers of either event. Be sure to come early as many people will be arriving in Anoka for the Grand Day Parade and traffic will be heavy. Costumes encouraged; awards will be given to the five: best individual, 2 to 3 person teams and group costumes. Animals are not allowed on race course.
