Does your business have a time of the year where you get to catch up let alone catch your breath? We’ll that’s where we are right now. Oh there’s plenty to do (got to get to those important Gala Dinner Thank you’s) but the difference is there arn’t major things happening and that is the break staff needs. Here’s hoping you have some “break” time coming soon!
On Feb. 26 the Anoka Area Chamber hosted its annual Gala Dinner. Thank you to the 300+ that attended, donated, sponsored and helped!
It’s always good to wrap up an event like this. Now we start planning for the Chamber Golf Tournament on July 26th!
The Chamber Gala Dinner Fundraiser is Friday, Feb. 26th. Over 300 will be attending and we hope you will be one of them. Staff and committee are ready to put the final touches to this event and put it in the books. If you’d like to attend or donate to the raffles, please contact the office.
The Anoka Area Chamber hosted a Speed Networking Luncheon on 2/9. It’s just another example of the many networking opportunties the Chamber provides. On Jan. 30 the Anoka Area Chamber hosted the 1st Annual Mayors Trail Ride Snowmobile Event on the Rum River. It was a GREAT way to show off the resource the river is whether winter or summer! All proceeds went to Youth First!
On 1/27 the Anoka Area Chamber hosted a Manufacturers Summit with area members. This event gave the Chamber’s Executive Committee some great insight into their issues. An action plan will follow.
Things are rocking at the Anoka Area Chamber office. Although we’re early in the New Year, so many things are on the table right now. We have our Gala Dinner Fundraiser on Feb. 26th. Planning is underway for the Anoka Classic Car Shows that will begin in mid May on Saturday nights in downtown Anoka. Planning is also underway for the 12th Annual Anoka Riverfest & Craft Fair set for July 10th. The Chamber’s Scholarship Program is going on in area high schools as we prepare for judging in early March. Plus of course all of our networking opportunties.

On January 19th the Board of Directors of the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce voted to support the Northern Lights Express Passenger Train that would run from Minneapolis to Duluth. To learn more about this project, go to www.northern lightsexpress.org
On January 12th the Chamber hosted two great events. In the morning we had our annual Business Panel Day at Connexus Energy. This event puts businesses in front of students interested in their field. Over 80 students from our area high schools were in attendance.
In the afternoon the Chamber hosted our annual State of the Cities Luncheon. A large crowd were updated from mayors and city managers alike on what happened and is happening in our local communities.
This is just another example of the Chamber working in our communities!
